The project with the name "GEOTOURISM AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT" and acronym "Geotopes" is part of the Cross Border Co-operation Program "Greece-Cyprus 2007-2013" and is co-funded by the European Union (ERDF) by 80%, while the remaining 20% is covered by national resources of Greece and Cyprus.

Το ΤΑΥ έχει αναρτήσει διαδραστικούς Χάρτες Επικινδυνότητας Πλημμύρας ώστε ο κάθε πολίτης να βλέπει άμεσα την ύπαρξη ή μη δυνητικού κινδύνου πλημμύρας και την πιθανή έκταση πλημμυρισμού της περιουσίας του με την εισαγωγή στοιχείων όπως π.χ. την οδό ή το Φύλο/Σχέδιο και αριθμό τεμαχίου της ακίνητης περιουσίας του.

Kitchener's survey of Cyprus 1878 - 1883

In 1885, Horatio Herbert Kitchener’s map of Cyprus, which was the result of the first scientific survey of the island, was published in London by Edward Stanford of 55 Charing Cross Road, SW. The map was printed in 16 sheets and became a cartographic model up to the middle of the 20th century. This map, of pivotal importance for the cartography of Cyprus, contains a multitude of significant information regarding the geography, history and culture of the island. Even today, much of this data requires attentive research by the scientific community.

Ability to Navigate to a Property through an On-line Free Web Application in real time. The applications use the Geographical Information Systems of the Department, extending them through Web GIS capabilities. Various layers of information are available, such as parcels, buildings, sheet / plans, aerial photography, planning zones, etc. The ability to identify each property is available with important parcel characteristics, relative scanned cadastral plans, the values of the general valuation and many others. Two additional thematic On-line services are also available with very important multi-variable attributes; the topographical and the hydrographical. Search, printing, as well as access via web-services is also offered.
