I am Philip Fayad, a GIS and Earth Observation Specialist! Currently, I am a PhD Candidate in the field of “Epidemiological Monitoring with the Use of Geoinformatics” at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics (CEG) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), under the supervision of Professor Phaedon Kyriakidis. For my PhD studies, I have received a scholarship grant from the Sylvia Ioannou Charitable Foundation and additionally, I am among the recipients of the Cyprus State Scholarships Institution (IKYK).​

My main research interests include Geoinformatics, Geostatistics, Spatial Analysis, Remote Sensing and GIS towards spatial problem solving.

Since 2019, I am among the co-founders of the QGIS Cyprus community, part of the international open source initiative and the first of its kind in Cyprus and a member of the Geospatial Analytics Lab at CUT.
